The End Goal: A Published Anthology!
We want students to feel proud of their story and excited to share it with the world! However, publishing is not required for a successful experience with writing.
- By the end of Semester 2, each student should have a finished story.
- Students may begin work on their story at any time during the course.
- Short stories are generally 2,000 – 7,000 words in length.
- Students may write more than one story.
- Final versions of the story are due April 15, 2026
- Students (and their parents) who choose to have their story in the anthology will be required to sign a release. Release forms will be distributed during Semester 2.
- If parents are concerned about using the student’s real name as the author, they may choose a pen name.
- Stories will be collected, edited, and published on Amazon.com, under my imprint, Revello Press, by the end of Summer 2026. There is no student fee for publication or any pre-press work.
- Students will receive standard royalties on sales. The exact percent of each student’s royalty is dependent upon the number of stories in the anthology.
